How you can help

We are always looking for new members to the NASSA family. Whether you want to play, coach or just volunteer your time to help make a difference to the lives of young people in your local community.

Here are the ways you can help…

Volunteer

NASSA is immensely proud of its volunteer network without whom we would simply not exist. The costs associated with running an extensive sports programme can be exorbitant, with facility hire being the largest single cost. Because of this we need volunteers to help stage events, transport our young people, officiate at games, coach and even wash kit. Please come and join the NASSA family.

Sponsor a child

We create good basketball players but, more importantly, we develop good citizens of whom the local community can be proud. Many of our young people come from disadvantaged single-parent families, from the BAME community. The Covid-19 Lockdown has been especially hard on these young people for whom basketball offers a release and fosters their sporting ambitions.

Sponsor a programme

NASSA is an inclusive organisation. We run programmes that serve every need of young people in east London. As well as a wheelchair programme, a girls-only programme and our extensive schools and colleges programme, we also run a junior community coaches programme which gives young people the opportunity to gain qualifications in basketball coaching, officiating and in First Aid.

Corporate support

There are numerous ways for companies, both local and national, to engage with NASSA. We’re interested in forming multilevel long-term relationships with you and your staff to ensure that both your company and our young people get the maximum benefit from our partnership. We believe that support programmes work best if the partnership is truly a two-way relationship.
